How Wild Rivers Connect Began

Wild Rivers Connect began as a steering committee in 2012, based on the highest need identified for community organizations from a Community Collaborations event.  Wild Rivers Connect received an $8,000 grant from the Ford Family Foundation (with Wild Rivers Community Foundation  acting as a fiscal sponsor), to bring services to  nonprofits and organizations in Curry and Del Norte counties.

Check out our News & Stories section to hear what other organizations are doing in our area. We want to hear about your organization’s success stories so we can share them with the WRC community. Is your organization growing?  Did you receive a grant for a project? Did you have a wildly successful fundraiser? Contact us so we can help spread the word.

Network:

Wild Rivers Connect hosts regular gatherings for nonprofit leaders to network and find out what other organizations are working on in Curry and Del Norte Counties. Subscribe to the mailing list to get notices when these gatherings occur.  Join our Facebook Page to request volunteers, post events, find out what other groups are doing, and receive tips for nonprofits.

Submit a Press Release:

Take the guess work out of submitting a press release by using our handy Submit a Press Release Tool. We keep the local press contacts up-to-date and you can choose who you want to receive your press release.

Find Training Opportunities or Funding Sources:

Utilize our Resources page to connect with groups that facilitate nonprofit training in our area, or to view groups who provide grants locally. Contact Wild Rivers Connect with your training and funding needs, and we will do all we can to help.
